The Rise Of Native Mobile Advertising

Mobile App Marketing

It’s hard to deny the growing popularity of native mobile advertising. It is rapidly overtaking all other ad formats in the mobile app space, and for good reason. We discuss the impacts native mobile ads are having on revenue, engagement, retention and more.

All of the big channels are moving to support native mobile advertising. This includes Facebook with native ads in the news feed & the Audience Network in apps, Instagram with native ads in the feed, Pinterest with native pins, Twitter with promoted tweets and in-app via Mopub, Yahoo/Tumblr with Gemini & native Yahoo ads, and LinkedIn with sponsored updates.

Some interesting stats that we mentioned in the show included:

  • Adore Me increasing Pinterest referred revenue by 4000% using native ads.
  • Citrus Lane discovered that purchases from Pinterest are 3X larger than other platforms thanks to native advertising.
  • Zola managed to increase conversions by 44% and clickthrough rates by 50%.
